MAKTAB HAbib ibn Mazahir (AS)
Why is this Maktab dedicated in the name of Janaab e Habib Ibn Mazahir (AS)?
Maktab Habib Ibn Mazahir started with an inspiration from the noble personality of Imam Hussain’s friend Janabe Habib who loved Imam Hussain from his childhood time.
It is narrated that, one day the Holy Prophet (SAWW) and some of his companions passed some children playing together. The Prophet (SAWW) walked towards the children and sat beside one of them. He kissed that child on his forehead with kindness and compassion. The companions asked the Prophet (SAWW) the reason behind this action, and he replied, “One day I saw this child playing with my Hussain, he was picking up the earth from underneath Hussain’s feet and rubbing it on his face and eyes. I love him because he loves my Grandson. Then the angel Jibrael descended and gave me the news that this child will be one the companions of my Hussain in the tragedy of Karbala and his name is Habib.”
Janaab e Habib was a pious and devoted man. He observed the boundaries of God, and he knew the Holy Qur’an by heart. He spent the duration of his nights in the worship of Allah. It is narrated from Imam Hussain that Habib completed the recitation of the Holy Qur’an each night.

قالَ الإِمامُ جَعْفَرُ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصّادِقُ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ): مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرآنَ كَثِيراً وَ تَعاهَدَهُ بِمَشَقَّةٍ مِنْ شِدَّةِ حِفْظِهِ أَعْطاهُ اللّهُ أَجْرَ هذَا مَرَّتَينِ.
Imam Ja’far ibne Muhammad as-Sadiq (peace be upon him) has said: “Allah will reward the person who recites the Qur’an a great deal and makes a promise with it to try and memorize it even though it may entail great difficulty, a double reward.”
Like Habib Ibn Mazahir supported the Imam of his time, we pray that each student of Maktab Habib Ibn Mazahir become the companion of Imam-e-Zamana (aj).
